Jean-Michel Bertrand pushed the door of the mountains to enter a universe

Jean-Michel BERTRAND

French filmmaker Jean-Michel Bertrand was born in 1959 in Saint-Bonnet, the capital of coquettish
Champsaur where his family lives for generations. In this area of the Hautes-Alpes,
grove lush alongside the harsh mountains.
The school is interested soon. He runs the mountain, prefers the company of animals and the solitude of
peaks. At 16, he began working life, in turn ski or "planter of trees" in
within the National Forest.
environmentalist before her time, her love of nature will take him around the world. Passionate
images he shot his first feature film in Iceland. The film won first prize at the film festival
flyer Super Dévoluy.
in Belfast and Dublin, it reflects the plight of street children who survive by raising
horses. Abandoning this urbanization delusional, he escapes with Mongolian nomads which follows the wanderings
millennia for one year.
Back in France, he starts shooting more personal: he goes in search of "his" eagle
mythical bird that orchestrates his dreams since childhood. A quest filmed in his garden: the heart of the mountains
champsaurines ... He paces scopes forgotten merges into the background, scans the sky
obstinately ... until the unforgettable encounter.
With humor and emotion, Jean-Michel Bertrand opens the door to a universe at once
close and mysterious. Before his camera, the "small Fulani" mountain is revealed in all its beauty
.

The film

He dreamed of a child, he made a point man. Jean-Michel Bertrand learns the language of wildlife.
It is forgotten, essential to the vision Magic: the eagle king finally offered, flat
hunt, build, unveiled its family, the first flight of a small ... A true hymn to nature, breathing,
suspended time ...
Companion secret of his childhood dreams, the great golden eagle flying over his thoughts and fueled his dreams
in secret. Obsession sweet. A quest for nourishment.
So camera in hand, he pushes the door of the mountains, enters this world so close and yet so distant
. Quest of the golden eagle guide to this magical forest legends. He learns the language of
wildlife coexists with buff drunk, flirts with polychrome birds, groundhogs with
sports, dance with stoats. Not to disturb the incessant ballet of savage
beings, man is forgotten until it becomes invisible.
And one day, the breath freezes: it is there, the messenger of the gods, the king of the sky. Who teaches us the condition of
cloud. And to our dazzled eyes, Eagle ruler offered unintentionally. It hovers, hunting,
built, its secrets, reveals his family and we offer the first flight of its eaglets
... The film by Jean-Michel Bertrand is a hymn to the color, movement, to the whims of nature's infinite
, perseverance, strength of passion. By resuming the thread of this parallel universe
we lost the keys, the director gives us a real breath.
